About Burmese Workers Program
Burmese Workers Program started operating since August 2007 under the supervision of Northeast Central Labor Council - AFL-CIO and has successfully completed the first series of workshops training in fall 2007. Total over a hundred Burmese workers attended the workshop series and have signed up for program contact list. This program has been giving advises to Burmese workers in regard of their workplaces and is opened to serve all Burmese needy. Primary objective of the program is to raise awareness among Burmese Workers, about labor rights, employment benefits, workplace safety issue, federal and state employment laws etc. This program focuses on educational activities and research; looking forward to establish a healthy working environment for Burmese workers in Northeast Indiana. Educational workshops are open to all the Burmese workers and looks forward to establish healthy working environment for Burmese workers in Northeast Indiana.
Objectives
The Objectives of Burmese Workers' Program as following:-
a. To raise labor rights awareness among Burmese workers.
b. To conduct survey and research opportunity for further resolutions.
c. To recruit Burmese workers for join Working America campaign.
d. To improve their communication skill at workplace.
